The Wooden Spoon

"Surround yourself with people who make you hungry for life, touch your heart, and nourish your soul."

It's been a while love bugs!!! I'm glad to be back blogging. So for my first post, I want to share our little get together with friends last Sunday. We decided to check out The Wooden Spoon in White Rock for late lunch. This place is very trendy. They describe themselves as a hip brunch & bistro with character.

This is their signature ceasar drink. I don't exactly remember what's in it, but they put mustard instead of Worcestershire sauce.  You can have the traditional vodka or you can have tequila or bourbon instead. And yes that's bacon and onion ring to top it off!

First on the menu, The Sweet and Salty. Although it was more savory than sweet, which I didn't mind. But if you are expecting it to be sweet, you might get disappointed. The french toast were lightly battered, maybe that's why it was missing that sweetness. However, the eggs were poached perfectly and the bacon were crispy!

So our server made a little mistake. We ordered the Triple Cheese Grilled Cheese with add on called "The Works", but she deleted the add on by accident. But that's alright as she brought us the right food as soon as she can.

And here it is!!!! All the goodness - bacon, onion rings, smoked meat and a little bit of tomato jam. Sounds yummy right? Well it was. And the fries were really good too. So, are you drooling yet? lol

And of course the dessert! I always say yes to desserts! We had the Four Layer Tiramisu Cheesecake. And it was delicious! I even tried feeding it to Tayo. I know I'm the horrible Aunt. haha!

All in all it was a great experience. Our server was really nice and we didn't feel rush at all. It's a cute little place with good atmosphere. I like the rustic interiors. They also have a little play area for kids at the back of the restaurant. We hung out there for a bit while Tayo was exploring. Oh, they also have complimentary baby diapers in the washroom! Isn't that a nice touch?!
